Maidenhead & District Scouts

Beaver Scouts are young people usually aged between six and eight years old.

They belong to the youngest section in the Scouting family.

They can move to the next section, Cub Scouts, when they are eight years old.

The Beavers Scout uniform consists of a turquoise sweatshirt, a Group scarf and a woggle.

The Beaver Scout programme is designed to be fun, encourage friendships, provide new experiences, develop individual skills and the ability to work as a team whilst being true to the Beaver Scout Promise. Some activities enjoyed by Beaver Scouts are: playing games, exploring outdoors, listening to stories, going on visits, making things, acting, singing, making music and helping others.

Beaver Scouts usually meet together once a week in a Beaver Scout Colony.

Some Beaver Scout Colonies also organise Sleepovers. These are often the first time a young person spends a night away from home. They take place in suitable buildings, often Scout centres.
